Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: stevia leaf extract, a no-calorie sweetener derived from the stevia plant. It comes as a liquid in a vanilla-flavored formula.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Stevia product and its label doesn't state a use — see Stevia's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

We don't have enough reliable evidence in our data to rate stevia for diabetes, high blood pressure, or weight loss. While a few small studies suggest stevia extract might lower blood sugar slightly or reduce blood pressure in some people, other studies found no significant effect, leaving the picture unclear.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Purified stevia used in food amounts is generally recognized as safe. However, this product is a supplement dose, and high-dose stevia supplements aren't well studied, so use caution.

Most people tolerate stevia well, though some have reported mild side effects like bloating, dizziness, headache, muscle pain, nausea, or numbness — these usually fade within a week. Rarely, allergic reactions have occurred.

The facts on file don't include pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data for stevia, so talk with your pharmacist or doctor for personalized advice if you're pregnant or nursing.

Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, stevia might increase the risk for hypoglycemia when combined with antidiabetes drugs.
Preliminary clinical research in patients with type 2 diabetes suggests that taking a single dose of stevia extract 1000 mg reduces postprandial blood glucose levels when taken with a meal. However, other clinical research in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes suggests that taking stevioside 250 mg three times daily does not significantly affect blood glucose levels or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) after three months of treatment.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, combining stevia or stevia constituents with antihypertensive agents might increase the risk of hypotension.
Stevia extract and stevioside might lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension. However, other clinical research suggests that stevioside does not significantly lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
