What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Stomach Advanced against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Stomach Advanced by BioAnue
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Stomach Advanced has 3 active ingredients. Betaine hydrochloride is a compound that boosts stomach acid — it's used to support digestive function.
Pepsin is a protein-digesting enzyme (protease) your stomach naturally makes to break down food. The third ingredient is a proprietary blend, which means its exact components and amounts are not disclosed on the label; we list them individually where we can identify them.
The capsule itself is made from gelatin.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence on betaine hydrochloride for dyspepsia (indigestion), hypothyroidism, diarrhea, rheumatoid arthritis, food allergies, and hay fever is insufficient — we don't have reliable data showing whether it works for these purposes. Pepsin's effectiveness ratings are also not established in our data.
Because this is a digestive enzyme product with limited evidence behind its specific claims, talk with your pharmacist about what it's meant to do for you and whether the science backs it up.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Betaine hydrochloride can irritate your stomach and is not safe if you have ulcers, gastritis, or true acid reflux — the very conditions someone might think this helps. It may also cause heartburn.
Pepsin is generally well tolerated in most adults, though it can cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people; rarely, occupational exposure to pepsin has triggered allergic rhinitis or asthma in sensitive individuals. For pregnancy, the safety data advises against betaine hydrochloride.
Pepsin safety in pregnancy hasn't been established — talk with your doctor or pharmacist. During breastfeeding, betaine hydrochloride should be avoided, and pepsin is not recommended without medical guidance.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Double-check proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), H2-blockers, and antacids before taking this product — betaine hydrochloride can weaken their effects. All interactions are Minor severity, but they're real enough to matter if you're relying on those medications to control your stomach acid.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is for people looking to support stomach acid and digestive enzyme activity — but the evidence it actually works is limited. If you take any acid-reducing medication (PPIs, H2-blockers, antacids), check your specific drugs on this page before starting.
Anyone with ulcers, gastritis, or acid reflux should skip it. Pregnant or breastfeeding?

Stomach Advanced by BioAnue Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Stomach Advanced by BioAnue contains betaine hydrochloride, which interacts with medications that lower stomach acid.
Betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acid production, and this can reduce how well acid-suppressing drugs work.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The main concern is with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) — the most commonly prescribed class of acid reducers — as well as H2-blockers (like famotidine) and antacids. All three drug types are affected at a Minor severity level.
Betaine hydrochloride's acidity boost works directly against what these medications are trying to do, so their effectiveness may drop if you take them together.
We could not check stomach extract for interactions; we hold no data for it. Pepsin, another ingredient here, has no interactions documented in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 36 individual medications. Run your exact medications through the checker below before you start.
