Sync Up Berry Flavor Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Sync Up Berry Flavor has one active ingredient: sulforaphane, a compound found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli that's being studied for potential health effects. The product also contains several inactive ingredients — glycerin, water, oils, bilberry extract, and others that help create the formula and improve taste and shelf life.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for sulforaphane's effectiveness varies by condition. It's rated possibly effective for prostate cancer based on available research.
For hay fever (allergic rhinitis) and asthma, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to know whether it works. Cancer in general has insufficient evidence to rate.
The data we hold doesn't cover all the conditions sulforaphane might be marketed for, so if you're curious about a specific use, ask your pharmacist or doctor what the research actually shows.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Sulforaphane from food is considered safe, but concentrated supplements like this one are less studied over the long term. The most common side effects reported are bowel discomfort, heartburn, stomach upset, and vomiting.
In clinical studies, some people also reported headache, insomnia, and irritability. There have been two reported cases of seizure in males with autism taking sulforaphane — one occurred after 3 weeks of use in someone with a recent seizure history, and another broke through existing seizure control.
One study also noted increased weight gain (about 4 pounds more over 18 weeks) in young males with autism. For pregnancy, the safety data advises against concentrated sulforaphane supplements — stick to normal food amounts instead.
While breastfeeding, there isn't enough information on supplement-level doses, so use caution and prefer dietary amounts. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications against this product if you take drugs broken down by your liver's CYP3A4, CYP1A2, or CYP2E1 enzymes — sulforaphane may change how your body processes them. This includes many common medications.
If you have a seizure disorder or history of seizures, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Sulforaphane is most studied for prostate cancer support, though evidence is still developing. If you take any prescription or regular over-the-counter medication — especially ones that affect your liver — you'll need to check them against this product before starting.
The side effects are usually mild digestive upset, but seizure risk in certain populations and long-term safety in supplements warrant a conversation with your pharmacist.

Sync Up Berry Flavor by Little DaVinci Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Sync Up Berry Flavor by Little DaVinci contains sulforaphane, which interacts with several groups of medications through effects on how your liver breaks them down.
The most serious concern is with drugs metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme (a major liver pathway) — sulforaphane may increase their levels and effects, potentially making them stronger than intended. This is a Moderate severity interaction based on lab evidence, though it hasn't been seen in human studies yet.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sulforaphane also affects two other liver enzymes: CYP1A2 and CYP2E1 substrates may have altered levels or effects, both at Moderate severity. The CYP1A2 interaction is complicated — lab work suggests sulforaphane might both inhibit and increase this enzyme, so the net effect is unclear.
For CYP2E1, the concern is increased drug levels and effects.
Altogether, these interactions span 712 individual medications. Because sulforaphane's effects on your liver can shift how your body processes many common prescription and over-the-counter drugs, you'll want to check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before you start.

BroccoPhane
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, broccoli might reduce the levels and effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that eating 500 grams of fresh broccoli daily for 6-12 days can increase CYP1A2 activity by 10% to 200%. Induction of CYP1A2 activity by broccoli is attributed to its glucosinolate constituents.
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates
Theoretically, broccoli might reduce the levels and effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2A6.
Pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that eating 500 grams of broccoli daily for 6 days increases CYP2A6 activity by 135% to 550%. Induction of CYP2A6 activity is attributed to its glucosinolate constituents.
