Modified Citrus Pectin is rated possibly effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), but for prediabetes and radiation exposure, the evidence is insufficient to know.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ribose is generally well tolerated for short-term use (up to about a month), but long-term safety isn't well studied. Common side effects include diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, nausea, and low blood sugar.
Some people report anxiety or lightheadedness; lowering the dose has resolved these in some cases. Ribose is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Modified Citrus Pectin from food and typical supplement doses is generally well tolerated. Mild side effects may include diarrhea, gas, loose stools, and mild cramps.
Rarely, allergic reactions including anaphylaxis can occur in sensitive individuals. In pregnancy, pectin from food is fine, but supplement safety hasn't been well studied — check with your doctor.

Bioenergy Ribose
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking ribose in combination with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In clinical research, ribose decreases serum glucose levels in a dose-dependent manner.
Insulin
Theoretically, taking ribose with insulin could increase the hypoglycemic effect of insulin.
In clinical pharmacokinetic studies, oral administration of ribose modestly increased serum insulin levels.
modified Citrus Pectin
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of digoxin, potentially decreasing its effectiveness.
A small clinical study shows that taking digoxin with a kaolin-pectin suspension reduces the absorption of digoxin by about 62%. It is unclear if these effects are due to pectin, kaolin, or the combination.
Lovastatin (Mevacor)
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of lovastatin, potentially decreasing its effectiveness.
Case reports suggest that concomitant use of pectin and lovastatin might reduce the cholesterol-lowering effect of lovastatin, possibly due to reduced intestinal absorption of lovastatin.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, potentially decreasing their effectiveness.
A small clinical study shows that taking tetracycline with bismuth subsalicylate in a kaolin-pectin suspension reduces the absorption of tetracycline by about 34%. It is unclear if these effects are due to pectin, kaolin, bismuth subsalicylate, or the combination.
