Does it work?
Strong evidence
The vitamin B12 in this product is effective for treating B12 deficiency and Imerslund-Grasbeck disease (a rare condition affecting B12 absorption). It's also likely effective for cyanide poisoning, and there's some evidence it may help with canker sores and postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles).

Vitamin B12 is generally very well tolerated, and your body simply excretes what it doesn't use in your urine — there's no established upper limit. B12 is needed and considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding at recommended amounts; follow your provider's guidance on dosing.
Most people have no side effects; injection site reactions can happen with shots, and in rare cases, allergic reactions like rash or itching have been reported. Very rarely, correcting B12 deficiency has been linked to a serious drop in potassium (low blood potassium), though this is extremely uncommon.
