Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: riboflavin (vitamin B-2) at 25 mg per tablet. Riboflavin is a B vitamin that plays a role in energy production and cell function in your body.

The tablet also contains several inactive ingredients — sorbitol, modified cellulose, calcium phosphate, croscamellose sodium, silica, magnesium stearate, triacetin, polydextrose, and carnauba wax — which are fillers, binders, and coating materials.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Riboflavin product and its label doesn't state a use — see Riboflavin's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The product facts provided do not include effectiveness ratings for riboflavin, so we don't have established evidence on file for what this dose may or may not do. If you're considering this supplement for a specific reason, talk with your pharmacist about what the research shows for your particular interest.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data

Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Riboflavin is considered very safe, and any excess your body doesn't use is removed through your urine. At recommended doses, it's generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding — in fact, your body needs it at those times — but check with your provider before taking high-dose supplements.

When taken by mouth, riboflavin is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects are dose-related nausea and a bright yellow discoloration of urine, particularly at higher doses.

Diarrhea has been reported rarely. In one clinical study, one person out of 28 reported both diarrhea and increased urination after starting a much higher dose (400 mg daily).

At 25 mg, side effects are unlikely.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Riboflavin.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 20 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take tetracycline antibiotics (like doxycycline, minocycline, or tetracycline itself), check with your pharmacist before starting this product — riboflavin may reduce how well these antibiotics work. Use the medication checker below to confirm your exact drugs.

Vitamin B-2 25 mg by Nature's Blend: Common Questions

Does Vitamin B-2 25 mg by Nature's Blend interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Vitamin B-2 25 mg has a known interaction with 20 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Vitamin B-2 25 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Will this turn my urine yellow?
Possibly. At 25 mg per day, side effects are unlikely, but riboflavin can cause bright yellow urine — especially at higher doses. It's harmless; it just means your body is excreting the excess vitamin.
Is riboflavin safe during pregnancy?
Yes, at recommended amounts. Your body actually needs riboflavin when you're pregnant. If you're thinking about taking a high-dose supplement, check with your provider first.
Can I take this while breastfeeding?
Yes, at recommended doses. Riboflavin is needed during breastfeeding. If you want to take more than the typical amount, ask your provider.
What is riboflavin for?
Riboflavin is a B vitamin that helps your body produce energy and supports cell function. It's found naturally in many foods, but some people take a supplement to ensure they're getting enough.
Will this cause nausea?
At 25 mg, nausea is unlikely. Nausea from riboflavin is dose-related, meaning it's more common at much higher doses. If you do experience it, it's usually mild.
