Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical cream marketed under FDA's monograph rules for oral use, intended for application to teeth and gums. The main active ingredient, benzocaine, is a local anesthetic typically used to numb minor mouth pain and discomfort. Benzalkonium chloride functions as an antimicrobial agent, while menthol and zinc chloride are included for their soothing and astringent properties commonly found in oral care products. The cream is not individually reviewed by the FDA but follows established standards for this product category.
