Clinical
This is an over-the-counter monograph product kit containing two separate formulations for cold and flu symptom relief. The daytime formula includes acetaminophen (a pain reliever and fever reducer), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), guaifenesin (an expectorant to help thin mucus), and phenylephrine (a decongestant). The nighttime formula substitutes doxylamine succinate, a sedating antihistamine typically used to promote sleep, for the phenylephrine and guaifenesin. Together, the two products in the kit are designed to address common cold and flu symptoms at different times of day.
