Clinical
TheraCare A and D is a topical ointment containing lanolin and petrolatum, both of which function as moisturizers and skin protectants. This product is marketed as an over-the-counter monograph drug, meaning it follows FDA's established rules for ointments in this category rather than undergoing individual product review. Lanolin and petrolatum are typically used to help soften and protect dry or irritated skin by forming a barrier that traps moisture.
