💊 About Ropivacaine DRUG GUIDE

Ropivacaine hydrochloride injection is used in adults for two main purposes: surgical anesthesia and acute pain management.

For surgery, it is used to provide epidural block (including for cesarean section), major nerve block, and local infiltration (numbing a specific area).

Naropin is a brand-name version approved for the same set of uses.For acute pain — such as pain after surgery or during labor — ropivacaine can be given as a continuous epidural infusion, as intermittent bolus doses through an epidural catheter, or as local infiltration at the site of pain.
