💊 About Bleomycin DRUG GUIDE
Bleomycin injection is used as a palliative (disease-managing, not curative) treatment for several cancers.
It can be used alone or combined with other chemotherapy drugs to treat squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (including the mouth, tongue, tonsil, larynx, and other sites), as well as squamous cell carcinomas of the penis, cervix, and vulva.
It also treats Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and testicular carcinoma (including embryonal cell, choriocarcinoma, and teratocarcinoma subtypes).When given as an intrapleural injection (directly into the chest cavity), Bleomycin acts as a sclerosing agent — it seals off the space around the lungs to treat malignant pleural effusion and help prevent fluid from coming back.
