Agave is a succulent plant best known as the source of agave nectar, a popular sweetener, and the base for tequila and mezcal. While it has a long history of folk use for digestion, skin care, and minor infections, there is very little solid human research to support medicinal benefits, and the raw sap can irritate skin and may be unsafe to take internally in large amounts. What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Farxiga

Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.
