Phenobarbital, Sodium Nitrate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS — the group Alpine Ragwort interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inducers might increase the risk of adverse effects from the pyrrolizidine alkaloid (PA) constituents in alpine ragwort.
Alpine ragwort contains PAs. PAs are substrates of CYP3A4. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 might increase the conversion of PAs to toxic metabolites.

Here's the short version: I'd steer clear of Alpine Ragwort altogether, and that goes double if you take phenobarbital. This plant carries pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), natural compounds that your liver turns into damaging byproducts. Phenobarbital is a strong inducer of the liver enzyme CYP3A4, meaning it revs that enzyme up. In theory, a faster enzyme could crank out more of those toxic PA byproducts, raising the risk of liver injury.

To be fair, this concern comes mostly from lab and animal data, so it's more theoretical than proven. But Alpine Ragwort has no real health benefit and a genuine liver-toxicity risk on its own, so the smart move is simply not to use it.
