Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Orphenadrine
Orphenadrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Artichoke interacts with.
In vitro research shows that artichoke leaf extract inhibits CYP2B6 activity. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2B6 to help clear orphenadrine. In a test tube, artichoke leaf extract slowed that enzyme down. If that happened in real life, orphenadrine could hang around a bit longer than usual, which might nudge up its typical side effects, things like drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, dizziness, or a faster heartbeat.
That said, I want to be honest with you. This concern comes only from lab research, and it has not actually been seen in people taking these two together. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice you feel extra groggy or off. Don't change anything on your own first.

Artichoke leaf extract is a generally well-tolerated supplement that may have a mild cholesterol-lowering effect and is often used for indigestion, though the evidence is modest. About Orphenadrine
What Is Orphenadrine Used For?
Brand names: Norflex, Disipal, Banflex, Flexoject, Flexon, Norflex Injection
Orphenadrine citrate is used to ease discomfort from acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — things like muscle pain and stiffness. It is always used as part of a broader treatment plan that includes rest and physical therapy, not as a stand-alone cure.
Both the extended-release tablet and the injection form are approved for this use. Neither form directly relaxes tight muscles — the relief it provides is thought to be related to its pain-relieving (analgesic) properties.
