Olmesartan Medoxomil falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Ash interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of ash seed with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects. Animal research shows that ash seed extract can decrease blood pressure. This effect has not been evaluated in humans. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antihypertensive drugs.
Some antihypertensive drugs include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.

Here's the simple version: olmesartan (Benicar) already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Ash seed may gently nudge your pressure in the same direction. So if you pair them, the worry is that the two together could push your numbers down a little too far. That might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or even faint, especially when you stand up quickly.

Now, the honest part: this concern comes only from animal research, not from people. It hasn't been proven in humans, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Food or seasoning amounts are unlikely to cause trouble. Still, before adding an ash supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings.

What Is Olmesartan Used For?

Brand names: Olmesartan Medoxomil, Benicar

Olmesartan treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children aged 6 years and older. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.

It is available as Benicar and as generic olmesartan medoxomil tablets, including a combination tablet with hydrochlorothiazide. All of these products are used for high blood pressure.
