Here's the simple version: insulin already lowers your blood sugar, and there's a thought that black mustard seed might nudge it down a little further. In some animal studies, mustard seed extracts lowered glucose, possibly by affecting how insulin and sugar are handled in the body. If both push in the same direction, you could theoretically dip too low, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling faint.

I want to be honest though: this is theoretical and based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies. Using mustard as a normal spice on your food is very unlikely to matter. If you're thinking about concentrated mustard supplements, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.
