What Is Brivaracetam Used For?

Brand name: Briviact

Brivaracetam — available as tablets, oral solution, and injection under the brand name Briviact, as well as in generic forms — is used to treat partial-onset seizures (seizures that begin in one part of the brain) in patients 1 month of age and older. It can be used alone or alongside other seizure medications.

Briviact injection is specifically for intravenous (into a vein) use when a patient is temporarily unable to take medication by mouth. Brivaracetam oral solution and tablets are taken by mouth.
