Buchu may have antiplatelet effects. Theoretically, buchu may enhance the effects of anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs and increase the risk of bleeding in some patients. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the simple version: Vorapaxar (Zontivity) already works hard to keep your platelets from clumping together, which is exactly how it lowers your risk of another heart attack or stroke. Buchu may have its own mild blood-thinning, anti-platelet activity. Stack the two, and in theory you could tip the balance toward too much thinning, meaning easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or harder-to-stop bleeding from a small cut.

Now, the honest part: this concern is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'be cautious' flag than a proven danger. Still, because you're already on a strong antiplatelet (often alongside aspirin and clopidogrel), I'd loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding buchu. Please don't change your Vorapaxar on your own.

Zontivity (vorapaxar) is used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular death, and the need for urgent procedures to open blocked arteries. It is prescribed for people who have already had a heart attack or who have peripheral arterial disease (PAD) — a condition where arteries outside the heart become narrowed or blocked.

Zontivity is not used alone. It is given alongside aspirin and/or clopidogrel as part of a broader antiplatelet treatment plan.
