Theoretically, Canadian fleabane might cause additive effects and side effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs. Canadian fleabane has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro.
Some anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to know about pairing Canadian fleabane with ketoprofen. Ketoprofen is an NSAID, and like other NSAIDs it already nudges your platelets toward not sticking together as well, which can raise bleeding risk a bit, especially in the stomach. In lab dish studies, Canadian fleabane has also slowed platelets down. So the worry is that stacking the two could add up and make easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding a little more likely.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based on how these things behave in a test tube, not on solid human studies. It's not a reason to panic. Still, since ketoprofen on its own can irritate the gut, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you also take aspirin or a blood thinner.

What Is Ketoprofen Used For?

Brand names: Orudis, Oruvail Gel, Powergel, Oruvail Injection

Ketoprofen capsules (including the brand Orudis) are used to manage the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, to treat pain, and to treat primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods).

Ketoprofen extended-release capsules are approved for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis only. Because of the way they slowly release the drug, ketoprofen extended-release capsules are not recommended for treating acute (sudden) pain.
