Dipyridamole falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Canadian Fleabane interacts with.

Theoretically, Canadian fleabane might cause additive effects and side effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs. Canadian fleabane has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro.
Some anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: dipyridamole already works by making your platelets less sticky, which lowers your risk of clots after a heart valve replacement. Canadian fleabane has shown, in test tube studies only, that it can also slow platelet clumping. So in theory, stacking the two could push that blood-thinning effect a little further than intended.

What that might look like is easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop. I want to be honest though, this concern is theoretical and not proven in people. Still, since you're on dipyridamole for a serious reason, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding fleabane rather than starting it on your own.

What Is Dipyridamole Used For?

Dipyridamole tablets are used alongside warfarin (a blood thinner) to help prevent dangerous blood clots from forming after cardiac valve replacement surgery. It is not used alone for this purpose — it works as an add-on to anticoagulant therapy.

Dipyridamole Injection is used as an alternative to exercise during thallium myocardial perfusion imaging — a type of heart scan that checks blood flow through the coronary arteries. It is given to patients who are unable to exercise adequately for the test.
