Ibrutinib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Canadian Fleabane interacts with.

Theoretically, Canadian fleabane might cause additive effects and side effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs. Canadian fleabane has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro.
Some anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with Ibrutinib (Imbruvica): this cancer medicine already has a well-known habit of raising your bleeding risk. It interferes with how your platelets stick together, so bruising, nosebleeds, and bleeding that's slow to stop are recognized side effects on their own.

Canadian fleabane, in lab studies, has also been shown to slow platelet clumping. So the worry here is simply additive: stacking a mild blood-thinning herb on top of a drug that already thins the blood. To be clear, this is theoretical and based on test-tube data, not real patient reports, so don't panic. Still, with a serious medication like ibrutinib, it's smart to clear any fleabane product with your oncology team or pharmacist first.

What Is Ibrutinib Used For?

Brand name: Imbruvica

Imbruvica (ibrutinib) is approved for adult patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) / small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), including those with a specific genetic change called 17p deletion, and for adult patients with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM), a rare type of blood cancer.

Imbruvica is also approved for chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) — a complication that can occur after a stem cell transplant — in adults and children aged 1 year and older whose condition did not respond to at least one prior treatment.
