Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Terbinafine
Terbinafine falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Cassia Cinnamon interacts with.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the connection worth knowing: terbinafine (Lamisil) can occasionally be tough on the liver, which is why doctors sometimes check liver enzymes during a course of treatment. Cassia cinnamon contains a natural compound called coumarin, and in large, concentrated supplement doses taken over time, that coumarin may also stress the liver. Stack the two together and you could, in theory, add to that burden.
This is a theoretical concern, not something proven in people taking both. The sprinkle of cinnamon on your oatmeal or toast is not the issue. The caution applies to high-dose cassia cinnamon capsules used daily for weeks or months. If you take that kind of supplement, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before or during your terbinafine treatment so they can keep an eye on things.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Terbinafine page
“Liver strain is the risk that dominates this list. Terbinafine (Lamisil), the antifungal most people take for months to clear a nail infection, can injure the liver in rare cases on its own, and 38 of the 72 supplements catalogued here carry liver risks that could stack on top of that.”

About Cassia Cinnamon
What is Cassia Cinnamon?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Flavoring and culinary use
- Antimicrobial
Cassia cinnamon is the common, inexpensive cinnamon used in cooking, and it is also taken as a supplement, most often for blood sugar support. The evidence for its health benefits is mixed and far from proven, and because cassia is naturally high in coumarin, taking large amounts regularly may stress the liver. Use food amounts freely, but talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using high-dose supplements.
About Terbinafine
What Is Terbinafine Used For?
Brand name: Lamisil
Terbinafine tablets are used to treat onychomycosis — a fungal infection of the fingernails or toenails caused by dermatophytes (a type of fungus). Before starting the tablets, a doctor will confirm the diagnosis with a nail test.
Topical terbinafine products — creams and sprays — treat athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis) on the skin. They also relieve the itching, burning, cracking, and scaling that come with these infections. Lamisil AT Spray is indicated for athlete's foot between the toes specifically; its effectiveness on the bottom or sides of the foot is unknown.
