Theoretically, taking cat's claw with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Cat's claw contains rhynchophylline. In vitro and animal research suggests that rhynchophylline can lower blood pressure. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Epoprostenol (Flolan) is a powerful medication given by continuous IV infusion to open up blood vessels and lower pressure in the lungs for people with pulmonary hypertension. Because it already relaxes blood vessels, anything else that nudges blood pressure down can add to that effect. Cat's claw contains a compound called rhynchophylline that, in lab and animal studies, appears to lower blood pressure a bit.

So in theory, pairing the two could push your blood pressure too low, leaving you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, flushed, or faint. I want to be honest though: this has never actually been reported in people, and the concern is based only on early lab work. Still, since epoprostenol is serious medicine, please run any supplement past your doctor or pharmacist first.

What Is Epoprostenol Used For?

Epoprostenol (available as the brands Epoprostenol, Flolan, and Veletri) is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — WHO Group 1, a type of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. The goal is to improve how much physical activity patients can handle.

The clinical studies that established its effectiveness included mainly patients with moderate-to-severe symptoms (NYHA Functional Class III–IV) whose PAH was idiopathic (no known cause), heritable (genetic), or related to connective tissue diseases such as scleroderma.
