Here's the concern with pairing chaparral and Veozah (fezolinetant). Fezolinetant is the newer medicine for hot flashes during menopause, and it already comes with a warning about possible liver injury. In fact, your doctor is supposed to check your liver blood tests before you start and periodically while you take it. Chaparral, meanwhile, has been tied to serious and sometimes lasting liver damage, which is why the FDA has warned against it.

Put the two together and you may be stacking two liver stressors on top of each other. This idea is mostly theoretical and based on scattered case reports, not solid studies, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
