Here's the gist: metformin already works to lower your blood sugar, and Chinese cucumber may nudge your blood sugar a little lower too. Put them together and those effects could stack up, which might push your sugar lower than you want. Watch for signs of low blood sugar, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or feeling foggy and irritable.

I want to be straight with you, though: this concern comes only from lab and animal research, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem in people. Metformin isn't a prodrug, so this isn't about how it's broken down. If you do try Chinese cucumber, check your blood sugar more often and loop in your pharmacist or doctor first.
