Dash Diet and Regorafenib

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Regorafenib and Dash Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Dash Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Dash Diet at all — not against Regorafenib, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Dash Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Regorafenib. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 11,442 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Regorafenib that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Dash Diet’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Dash Diet side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Dash Diet has no side effects.

Special populations

Dash Diet in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Pregnancy Possibly Safe

When used appropriately, short-term. DASH diets have been used with apparent safety during pregnancy for 4-12 weeks. A modified DASH diet called MAMA-DASH, with adequate nutrition and calories for pregnancy, has been used for 20 weeks without reports of adverse events.

Lactation Possibly Safe

When used appropriately while breastfeeding for up to 6 months. The DASH diet is a balanced diet that is not expected to be harmful during breastfeeding. Observational research in exclusively breastfed infants has found that high adherence to the DASH diet for 4-6 months while breastfeeding is not associated with changes in infant weight, height, or head circumference when compared with low adherence to the DASH diet.

What Regorafenib Is Prescribed For, and What Dash Diet Has Been Studied For

These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Regorafenib is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Dash Diet is an eating pattern: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.

Regorafenib is prescribed for: Stivarga is approved to treat three types of advanced cancer in adults. It is used for metastatic colorectal cancer (cancer that has spread) after prior chemotherapy and targeted therapy; for locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) after two previous treatments; and for hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) after treatment with sorafenib. All three uses are specific to Stivarga tablets taken by mouth. It is intended for patients whose cancer has progressed despite earlier lines of therapy.

    Dash Diet for colorectal cancer

Observational research has found that following a DASH diet may be associated with a reduced risk of colorectal cancer.

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Regorafenib on your own; if you are taking Dash Diet for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Regorafenib page

“Regorafenib (Stivarga) is a targeted oral cancer therapy, and with a drug like this the goal is keeping its blood level inside a fairly tight window, so the 138 supplements and herbs on this page deserve real respect. Nearly all of them, 121 in total, can shift how the liver enzyme CYP3A4 processes the drug, nudging its level up or down.”

About Dash Diet

What is Dash Diet?

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart health
  • Lowering cholesterol
  • Weight management
  • Healthy eating pattern

The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet is an eating plan rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy, with less salt, red meat, and added sugar. It is one of the best-studied diets for lowering blood pressure and is widely recommended by doctors and dietitians. It is a food-based lifestyle plan, not a pill or supplement.

Eating pattern (whole-food diet plan)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Dash Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Dash Diet record says about it on its own.

Dash Diet: dosing

There is no pill or standardized "dose" for DASH, since it is an eating pattern rather than a supplement. Instead, the plan suggests target servings each day from food groups like vegetables, fruits, grains, dairy, lean protein, and a limited amount of fats and sweets.Sodium goals are usually set at a moderate level, and there is a lower-sodium version that may lower blood pressure even more. The exact amounts depend on your calorie needs, age, and health goals.A registered dietitian or your pharmacist can help you tailor the plan to your needs. Free DASH guides are also available from the NIH and National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
