Percodan combines aspirin with oxycodone, and it's the oxycodone part that matters here. Oxycodone is an opioid that already makes many people feel drowsy, foggy, or relaxed. The concern with European barberry is that its main compound, berberine, showed possible sedating effects in animal studies. So in theory, pairing the two could pile on extra sleepiness.

Honestly, this is a soft, theoretical worry, not something proven in people. Still, if you notice more grogginess, dizziness, or slowed breathing while taking both, that's worth paying attention to. I'd just give your pharmacist or doctor a quick heads-up before combining them, especially before driving or doing anything that needs you sharp. Don't change your Percodan on your own.

Theoretically, European barberry may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of European barberry, might inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, European barberry might have a similar effect.

Percodan combines two medicines: aspirin, which thins the blood by keeping platelets from clumping, and oxycodone, an opioid for pain. The interaction here is really about the aspirin part. Lab and animal studies hint that berberine in European barberry may also make platelets less sticky. If that holds true in people, stacking it on top of aspirin could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

In real terms, that might look like easier bruising, longer bleeding from a small cut, nosebleeds, or stomach upset (aspirin is already hard on the stomach). I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on early studies, not strong human data. Still, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before adding barberry.
