drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol, levomefolate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Fo-ti interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that fo-ti might inhibit CYP1A2. Additionally, in vitro research suggests that the degree of CYP1A2 inhibition depends on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, in an animal study, an aqueous extract of fo-ti inhibited CYP1A2 while an alcoholic extract of fo-ti induced CYP1A2. Induction or inhibition of CYP1A2 by fo-ti has not been reported in humans.

Beyaz is a birth control pill that combines drospirenone with ethinyl estradiol, plus a folate (levomefolate). The estrogen part is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which is the same enzyme Fo-ti seems to tinker with in lab studies. If Fo-ti slows that enzyme down, estrogen levels could drift a little higher, which might mean more nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or bloating. Confusingly, some forms of Fo-ti appeared to speed the enzyme up instead, which could theoretically lower hormone levels.
Here's the honest part: this is only test-tube and animal data, never shown in real people, so it's far from certain. Still, because reliable birth control matters, it's worth running this combo by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the thing to know with Beyaz (drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol, and levomefolate). This isn't about Fo-ti changing how strong your pill is or whether it still prevents pregnancy. The concern is liver strain. Birth control pills are processed by the liver and, like most medications, can occasionally stress it. Fo-ti, especially the processed root in supplement doses, has been tied to reports of liver injury too. Stacking two things that can each tax the liver may add up.
I'll be honest, this is mostly theoretical and based on scattered case reports, not strong studies, so I don't want to scare you. Still, watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Beyaz is a birth control pill that combines an estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) with a progestin (drospirenone), plus a folate. The concern here is mostly theoretical. In lab dishes, Fo-ti extract has shown some weak estrogen-like activity, and the worry is that large, concentrated amounts could compete at estrogen receptors and possibly nudge your pill's reliability or cause spotting or breakthrough bleeding.
To be clear, this comes from test-tube and animal work, not from real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since this is your contraception, even a small question mark matters. There's also a separate issue worth raising: Fo-ti has been linked to liver injury. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't stop your pill on your own.

Beyaz is a birth control pill that also delivers folate (levomefolate). The concern with Fo-ti here is pretty theoretical. Lab studies hint that Fo-ti may have some weak estrogen-like activity, meaning it could, in principle, bump up against the same estrogen receptors that the ethinyl estradiol in your pill works on. There's no solid human data showing this actually changes how well your pill works.
What does this mean for you? Large, concentrated Fo-ti supplement doses are the worry, not a stray bit in food. I wouldn't expect dramatic effects, but since this is your birth control, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two. Also keep in mind Fo-ti has been tied to liver injury in some reports, which is reason enough to be cautious.

One in vitro study suggests that the degree of CYP3A4 inhibition may depend on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, this evidence conflicts with animal research suggesting that fo-ti does not inhibit CYP3A4. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Your birth control pill (Beyaz) contains drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, both of which are partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab studies, Fo-ti seems to slow that enzyme down a bit. In theory, that could let a little more estrogen and drospirenone linger in your body, which might mean more typical pill side effects like nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or bloating.
That said, this is very weak evidence. It comes only from test-tube work, animal studies actually disagree, and it has never been reported in a real person. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, because Fo-ti has been linked to liver injury, it's worth running it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
