Fo-ti + Grepafloxacin
Grepafloxacin brand name: Raxar.
Fo-ti has a moderate interaction with Grepafloxacin. Theoretically, fo-ti might increase or decrease the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Grepafloxacin
Grepafloxacin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Fo-ti interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that fo-ti might inhibit CYP1A2. Additionally, in vitro research suggests that the degree of CYP1A2 inhibition depends on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, in an animal study, an aqueous extract of fo-ti inhibited CYP1A2 while an alcoholic extract of fo-ti induced CYP1A2. Induction or inhibition of CYP1A2 by fo-ti has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with grepafloxacin (Raxar) and Fo-ti. Your body clears grepafloxacin partly through a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dishes, Fo-ti has been shown to slow that enzyme down, which could let more of the drug build up in your system. If that happens, you might notice more of grepafloxacin's known side effects, like nausea, dizziness, or changes in your heartbeat rhythm.
That said, I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from test tube and animal studies only, and the results even disagreed with each other depending on the extract. Nothing like this has been confirmed in people. Grepafloxacin isn't a prodrug, so it isn't flipped. Still, please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Fo-ti
What is Fo-ti?
- Anti-aging and longevity
- Hair graying and hair loss
- General tonic for vitality
- Constipation
- High cholesterol
Fo-ti (He Shou Wu) is a root used in traditional Chinese medicine, often promoted for healthy aging and hair. High-quality human evidence for these benefits is limited, and processed Fo-ti has been linked to reports of liver injury, so caution and professional guidance are important.
