Humalog (insulin lispro) is a fast-acting insulin that lowers your blood sugar after meals. The concern here is simple: Fo-ti has been reported to have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effect. If you stack that on top of your insulin, the two could push your sugar down a little too far, raising the chance of hypoglycemia. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest that this interaction is theoretical, based on how Fo-ti behaves rather than strong human studies, so it may never cause a problem for you. Still, if you decide to use Fo-ti, check your glucose more closely at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know before starting it. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.
