Nebivolol Hydrochloride, Valsartan falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fo-ti interacts with.

Theoretically, fo-ti may increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Animal research suggests that fo-ti might inhibit CYP2D6. Additionally, an in vitro study suggests that the degree of CYP2D6 inhibition may depend on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Let's talk about Byvalson, which pairs nebivolol (a beta-blocker) with valsartan. The nebivolol part is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Fo-ti, in lab and animal studies, appears to slow that enzyme down. If it does the same in people, your body might clear nebivolol a little less efficiently, letting its levels creep up. That could mean a stronger effect: more lightheadedness, an unusually slow heart rate, fatigue, or blood pressure dropping lower than intended. The valsartan piece isn't really affected by this pathway.

The important caveat: this is only theoretical and hasn't been seen in actual patients. Raw Fo-ti may inhibit more than processed forms. I'd just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor, especially since Fo-ti has been linked to liver concerns.

Byvalson combines two blood pressure medicines: nebivolol (a beta-blocker) and valsartan (an ARB). The piece of this combo that touches the enzyme CYP2C9 is valsartan, which is partly handled by it. The concern here is that fo-ti might slow that enzyme down, which could let valsartan build up a bit more than usual. If that happened, you might notice signs of blood pressure dropping too low, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, unusual tiredness, or a slower pulse.

I want to keep this in perspective, though. This warning comes only from lab and animal studies, not from real people, so it's mostly theoretical. Still, since fo-ti has also been tied to liver issues, it's worth running it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
