Quetiapine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fo-ti interacts with.
Animal research suggests that fo-ti might inhibit CYP2D6. Additionally, an in vitro study suggests that the degree of CYP2D6 inhibition may depend on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with Fo-ti and Seroquel (quetiapine). Lab and animal studies hint that Fo-ti might slow down an enzyme called CYP2D6, which is one of the helpers your body uses to clear quetiapine. If that enzyme works more slowly, a little more of the drug could stick around. In plain terms, that might mean stronger effects, like more drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure when you stand up, or grogginess.
I want to be honest, though, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal work, not real people, and CYP2D6 is only a minor pathway for quetiapine (its main one is CYP3A4). So the practical risk is probably small. Still, since quetiapine already makes folks sleepy, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

In vitro research suggests that fo-ti might inhibit CYP3A4. One in vitro study suggests that the degree of CYP3A4 inhibition may depend on the type of fo-ti extract (i.e., the raw plant leads to greater inhibition than extensively processed extracts). However, this evidence conflicts with animal research suggesting that fo-ti does not inhibit CYP3A4. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body clears quetiapine using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies hint that Fo-ti might slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in a real person, quetiapine could build up more than expected, which might mean stronger sedation, dizziness, dry mouth, low blood pressure when you stand up, or a faster heartbeat. Quetiapine isn't a prodrug, so more of it sticking around generally means more effect, not less.
I want to be honest with you, though: this is only based on test-tube research, and animal studies didn't agree. It's never been reported in actual people. So it's a theoretical caution, not a red alert. Still, given Fo-ti's separate liver-injury reports, please run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

What Is Quetiapine Used For?
Brand names: Seroquel, Dopaquel
Quetiapine treats schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in adults and certain age groups of children and adolescents. For bipolar disorder, it is approved for manic episodes (both as a stand-alone treatment and alongside lithium or divalproex) and for depressive episodes.
The extended-release form of quetiapine is also approved as add-on therapy for major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults who are already taking an antidepressant. The regular tablet form is not approved for this use.
