Amphetamine falls under AMPHETAMINES — the group Gamma Butyrolactone (gbl) interacts with.

Theoretically, amphetamines may increase or decrease the therapeutic and adverse effects of GBL.
GBL is metabolized to gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB). Although some researchers have suggested that amphetamines may antagonize the effects of GHB, this has not been well studied.

First, a serious safety note: GBL is not a supplement. It's an industrial solvent that your body turns into GHB, a powerful sedative that can cause coma, seizures, and death. It's illegal for human use, and I'd never recommend taking it for any reason.

As for mixing it with amphetamine, the idea on file is mostly theoretical and based only on anecdotal reports. Amphetamine is a stimulant that speeds the brain up, while GHB slows it down, so in theory each might blunt or mask the other. That's actually dangerous, because it can hide how sedated or overstimulated you really are. You could still get racing heart, high blood pressure, agitation, or dangerous sedation. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist rather than combining these.

What Is Amphetamine Used For?

Brand names: Dyanavel XR, Adensys XR-ODT, Mydayis, Adzenys ER

Amphetamine treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years and older. Adzenys XR-ODT, Dyanavel XR, and the amphetamine extended-release orally disintegrating tablet formulations are specifically approved for ADHD in this age group.

Amphetamine Sulfate tablets and Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate tablets) are also approved for narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness) and as a short-term aid in a calorie-restricted weight-loss program for exogenous obesity (weight gain from external factors like overeating) in patients who have not responded to other approaches.
