Ertugliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Glucosamine interacts with.

Despite initial concerns, it is unlikely that glucosamine will interfere with the effects of antidiabetes drugs.
In vitro and animal research has suggested that glucosamine might increase insulin resistance or decrease insulin production. This has raised concerns that taking glucosamine might worsen diabetes and decrease the effectiveness of diabetes drugs. However, clinical research suggests that glucosamine does not have adverse effects on blood glucose or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) in healthy, obese, or type 2 diabetes patients.

Here's the short version: if you take glucosamine for achy joints while you're on ertugliflozin (Steglatro) for your type 2 diabetes, you very likely have nothing to worry about. Years ago, some lab and animal studies hinted that glucosamine might nudge blood sugar up by affecting insulin, which raised a fair question about whether it could work against your diabetes medicine. But when researchers actually tested this in real people, including folks with type 2 diabetes, glucosamine didn't meaningfully change blood sugar or A1C.

Ertugliflozin works by helping your kidneys flush extra sugar out in your urine, and glucosamine doesn't interfere with that. The evidence here is reassuring but not airtight, so it's smart to keep checking your readings as usual. If you notice anything odd, just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
