Here's some good news that may put your mind at ease. The interaction we have on file talks about guar gum slowing the absorption of oral medicines (like metformin or penicillin) that you swallow and absorb through your gut. Natalizumab (Tysabri) doesn't fit that picture. It's given as an infusion into a vein at an infusion center, so it never passes through your stomach or intestines where guar gum's gel could grab onto it.

Because of that, taking a guar gum supplement shouldn't change how well your Tysabri works or affect your MS control. The fiber's main quirks (gas, bloating, feeling full) are separate. As always, it's smart to run any new supplement by your pharmacist or neurologist, especially with an MS treatment.

About Natalizumab Injection

What Is Natalizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tysabri

Tysabri is approved for adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis — including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease. It is used as a solo therapy (monotherapy) for MS, not combined with other disease-modifying drugs.

Tysabri is also approved to induce and maintain remission in adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease when standard treatments and TNF-alpha inhibitors have not worked or cannot be tolerated. In Crohn's disease, it must not be combined with immunosuppressants or TNF-alpha inhibitors.
