Here's the thing to keep in mind: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow a concentrated supplement it can coat your gut and grab onto medications, slowing or lowering how much gets absorbed. With Pomalidomide (Pomalyst), the worry is that you'd absorb a little less of your dose, which could mean a weaker effect against your multiple myeloma or Kaposi's sarcoma. This isn't about Pomalidomide building up, just the chance of getting less of it on board.

This is a cancer medicine where getting the full dose really matters, so I wouldn't want to risk it. A simple fix is timing: take your Pomalidomide first, then wait at least 30 to 60 minutes before any guar gum. Please run this by your oncologist or pharmacist before adding any fiber supplement.

About Pomalidomide

What Is Pomalidomide Used For?

Brand name: Pomalyst

Pomalidomide capsules are used in adults with multiple myeloma (a blood cancer affecting plasma cells) who have already tried at least two prior treatments — including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor — and whose disease has continued to progress. It is given in combination with dexamethasone for this use.

Pomalidomide capsules are also used to treat Kaposi sarcoma (KS) — a cancer that can cause lesions on the skin and in internal organs — both in adults with AIDS-related KS after antiretroviral therapy has stopped working, and in adults with KS who are HIV-negative. The KS indication was approved based on response rate; ongoing studies are confirming long-term benefit.
