Here's the thing to keep in mind with guar gum and your vitamin A (Retinol). Guar gum forms a thick gel in your gut that can grab onto fats and slow how things get absorbed. Since vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that rides along with dietary fat, that same gel could trap some of it and let a little less get into your body.

For most people this is a minor issue, and it would only matter with concentrated guar gum supplements, not small food amounts. If you take vitamin A to correct a real deficiency or for an eye condition, getting less of it could make that treatment work a bit slower. A simple fix is timing: take your vitamin A first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before the guar gum. Check with your pharmacist or doctor to be sure.

Vitamin A is used to treat vitamin A deficiency. Aquasol A (intramuscular injection) is specifically indicated when a person cannot take vitamin A by mouth — for example, due to nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or a condition that prevents the gut from absorbing nutrients properly (malabsorption syndrome).

Vitamin A D ointment is a topical product used on the skin to help treat chafed skin from diaper rash, temporarily protect minor cuts, scrapes, and burns, and relieve chapped or cracked skin and lips. It also helps protect skin from drying effects of wind and cold weather.
