Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when it coats your stomach and gut it can slow or reduce how much of a swallowed pill actually gets absorbed. Litfulo (ritlecitinib) is a once-daily oral capsule you take for severe alopecia areata, so it's the kind of medicine this could affect. It is not a prodrug, so the concern is straightforward: less drug getting in may mean a weaker effect on your hair regrowth over time.

The evidence here is moderate and mostly comes from other drugs like metformin and penicillin, not ritlecitinib specifically, so this is more of a reasonable precaution than a proven problem. An easy fix is timing: take your Litfulo first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before your guar gum. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
