Theoretically, guggul might reduce the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that guggul constituents known as guggulsterones can induce CYP3A4.

Here's the gist for these two together. Your body clears cyclobenzaprine partly using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest the active parts of guggul (guggulsterones) may speed that enzyme up. If that happens, your body could break down cyclobenzaprine a bit faster, which might make it work less well, so you may notice more muscle tightness or pain than expected. Cyclobenzaprine is not a prodrug, so faster clearance simply means weaker effect, not stronger.

The good news: this is based only on test-tube research, so it's theoretical and may not show up in real life. Still, if you take both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
