Theoretically, guggul might reduce the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that guggul constituents known as guggulsterones can induce CYP3A4.

Here's the gist for erythromycin (E.E.S.): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break this antibiotic down. Lab and animal studies hint that guggul may speed that enzyme up. If that happens in people, your body could clear the erythromycin a little faster, which in theory might leave less of it around to fight your infection. Erythromycin is an active drug, not a prodrug, so faster clearance means a weaker punch, not a stronger one.

I want to be honest that this is based only on test-tube and animal data, so it's far from proven. Still, since finishing an antibiotic fully matters, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.
