Hawaiian baby woodrose contains chemicals which might increase serotonin levels. Combining serotonergic drugs with Hawaiian baby woodrose might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders.

Here's the concern with pairing these two. Protriptyline (Vivactil) raises serotonin levels in your brain, which is how it helps lift depression. Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds contain LSD-like compounds (ergine/LSA) that also act on serotonin receptors. Stacking two things that push serotonin in the same direction can, in theory, tip you into too much serotonin activity.

What that can look like includes agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or confusion, which is what we call serotonin syndrome. I want to be honest though: this warning is theoretical, based on how the chemicals behave, not on real-world reports. Even so, the woodrose seeds carry their own serious safety risks. Please don't combine them, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.
