Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Hesperidin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with CNS depressants may cause additive sedative effects.
Animal studies show that hesperidin has sedative effects, due to opioid receptor activity and can increase sedation when used with diazepam. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version: this is a very mild, mostly theoretical concern. Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting injection that can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and a feeling of being slowed down. In animal studies, hesperidin appeared to have its own calming, sedative-like effect through opioid receptors. So in theory, taking concentrated hesperidin supplements alongside your injection could add a little extra to that sleepy, foggy feeling.

The important part: this has never actually been reported in people, and the evidence comes only from lab and animal research. The citrus amounts you'd get from eating an orange are very unlikely to matter. If you're considering a hesperidin supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch for any unusual daytime grogginess.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
