Here's the gist: candesartan already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Hesperidin, the citrus flavonoid you find in vein supplements, might nudge blood pressure down a little too. Put the two together and there's a theoretical chance your readings dip lower than expected, which could leave you feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or wiped out, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It's based mostly on pharmacology and mixed studies, and some research showed hesperidin had no real effect on blood pressure at all. The amount of citrus in your diet won't matter. If you take a concentrated hesperidin supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up and keep an eye on how you feel.

Hesperidin is a flavonoid found in citrus fruits that is often combined with diosmin and used for vein and circulation problems like hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Some evidence supports these uses, but data for many other claims is limited. It is generally well tolerated, but pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid it because safety has not been established.

What Is Candesartan Used For?

Brand names: Atacand, Amias

Candesartan tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children ages 1 to under 17. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Candesartan tablets are also used in adults with heart failure (NYHA class II–IV) with reduced heart pumping function to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization from heart failure. Atacand is specifically studied for use alongside an ACE inhibitor for added benefit in heart failure.
