Kirlian Photography and Diltiazem

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Diltiazem and Kirlian Photography in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Kirlian Photography at all — not against Diltiazem, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Diltiazem’s Own FDA Label Lists

These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Diltiazem’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 10 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Bleeding in the gut Worth acting on

  • Shortness of breath Worth acting on mentioned in 9.6% of FDA reports for Diltiazem
  • Fainting Worth acting on

Showing the 10 most notable of 41 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Diltiazem. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 34,400 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Diltiazem that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Kirlian Photography’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Kirlian Photography side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Kirlian Photography has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Diltiazem page

“Someone on diltiazem (Cardizem, Tiazac) is usually managing blood pressure, angina, or a fast heart rhythm, so this list deserves genuine care. Seven of the 260 ingredients on file carry a major rating, and two of those are things people actually buy: grapefruit, which blocks the enzyme that clears diltiazem and can push its blood leve…”

About Kirlian Photography

What is Kirlian Photography?

  • Claimed 'aura' or energy imaging
  • Alternative wellness assessment
  • Stress or 'energy' readings
  • Spiritual or holistic exploration

Kirlian photography is not a dietary supplement or herb — it is a photographic technique that captures a glowing 'corona' around objects placed in a high-voltage electric field. The colorful 'aura' images it produces are caused by ordinary physical factors like moisture, pressure, and electrical conductivity, and there is no scientific evidence that it can diagnose disease or measure a person's health or 'energy.'

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Kirlian Photography is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Kirlian Photography record says about it on its own.

Kirlian Photography: dosing

There is no dose for Kirlian photography because it is not a supplement, herb, or medicine — nothing is swallowed or absorbed. There is no recommended frequency or 'amount.'If you are considering a Kirlian or 'aura' imaging session for curiosity or personal interest, treat it as entertainment rather than a health test, and do not let any result change your medical decisions.

Oral extended-release diltiazem (capsules and tablets) treats high blood pressure (hypertension). It is also used for chronic stable angina, which is chest pain from the heart working harder than its blood supply allows. It can be used alone or with other blood pressure medicines.

Some extended-release capsule products, such as Cartia, Cartia Xt and certain generic diltiazem capsules, are also approved for angina due to coronary artery spasm. The intravenous (IV) injection is a different use: it gives temporary control of a rapid heart rate in atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter, and rapidly converts paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) to normal rhythm.

Most-Reported Side Effects for Diltiazem

From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (34,219 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
