ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Propranolol
Propranolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Korean Pine interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Korean Pine and your propranolol. This isn't about how your body breaks the drug down. Instead, the concern is that both may nudge your blood pressure in the same direction (downward). In animal studies, pine nut oil lowered blood pressure, so the worry is simply additive: if you stack it on top of a blood pressure medicine like propranolol, your readings could dip a little lower than expected.
In real life, that might show up as feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or unusually tired, especially when standing up fast. Honestly, this is a theoretical concern drawn from rat research, and eating pine nuts as food is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated extracts are the bigger question mark, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before using those.

About Korean Pine
What is Korean Pine?
- Appetite control and weight management
- Heart and cholesterol health
- General nutrition and energy
- Skin and antioxidant support
- Cough and respiratory comfort (traditional)
Korean Pine is best known as the source of edible pine nuts and pine nut oil, which are nutritious foods rich in healthy fats. While some early research looks at pine nut oil for appetite and cholesterol, strong human evidence for any specific health benefit is limited. Treat it mainly as a food, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts.
About Propranolol (Cardiovascular)
What Is Propranolol (Cardiovascular) Used For?
Brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, Half-Inderal LA, Bedranol SR, Half Beta Prograne, Beta Prograne, Lopranol LA, Slo-Pro, InnoPran XL
This intravenous (IV) form of propranolol is used in hospital or clinical settings to treat dangerous heart rhythm problems. It is generally reserved for life-threatening arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) or those that occur during anesthesia.
Specific conditions it treats include fast heart rates coming from the upper chambers of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), certain arrhythmias caused by digitalis toxicity, dangerous ventricular rhythms that haven't responded to other treatments, and fast heart rates caused by excess adrenaline-like substances during surgery.

Propranolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Propranolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Korean Pine — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
