Here's something a little different about this pairing. Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) isn't a daily diabetes medicine that lowers your sugar. It's actually a rescue shot you use during an emergency when your blood sugar drops dangerously low. It works in the opposite direction, telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood to bring you back up.

The interaction on file is about krill oil possibly nudging blood sugar down a touch, which mainly matters with your regular glucose-lowering drugs (like insulin or metformin). With dasiglucagon specifically, the concern is theoretical and weak, and honestly the bigger worry there would be more frequent low-sugar episodes from your other medicines. Krill oil won't stop your rescue shot from working. Still, mention all your supplements to your pharmacist so your whole diabetes plan stays safe.

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
