Vorapaxar falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Krill Oil interacts with.

Theoretically, krill oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil can modestly decrease platelet aggregation. Since krill oil also contains these fatty acids, taking high doses of krill oil might also inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, taking high doses of krill oil with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. However, the omega-3 content of krill oil is much lower than that of fish oil.

Here's the gist with Vorapaxar (Zontivity). This medication is already a potent antiplatelet drug, which means it keeps platelets from clumping together so you don't form dangerous clots. Krill oil, thanks to its omega-3 fats (EPA and DHA), can make platelets a little less sticky too. Stack the two, and in theory you could nudge your bleeding risk upward. With Vorapaxar that might look like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that takes longer to stop.

I want to be honest about how soft this concern is. It's theoretical, based on how these things work rather than real-world reports, and krill oil carries far less omega-3 than regular fish oil. Still, since Vorapaxar is usually taken alongside aspirin and clopidogrel, please run any krill oil plans by your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Vorapaxar Used For?

Brand name: Zontivity

Zontivity (vorapaxar) is used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular death, and the need for urgent procedures to open blocked arteries. It is prescribed for people who have already had a heart attack or who have peripheral arterial disease (PAD) — a condition where arteries outside the heart become narrowed or blocked.

Zontivity is not used alone. It is given alongside aspirin and/or clopidogrel as part of a broader antiplatelet treatment plan.
