Here's the gist: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down belumosudil (Rezurock). Lemongrass — mostly its compound citral — has been shown in lab and animal studies to slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let more belumosudil build up in your system, which might mean stronger effects and a greater chance of side effects like nausea, fatigue, muscle aches, swelling, or changes in your liver blood tests.

I want to keep this in perspective. This concern comes only from test-tube and animal data, not human studies, and the lemongrass you sip in a tea or use to flavor food is very unlikely to cause a problem. Concentrated lemongrass supplements or the essential oil are the bigger question mark. Since belumosudil treats a serious condition, please run any lemongrass supplement past your oncology team or pharmacist first.
