Lemongrass + Triazolam
Triazolam brand names: Halcion, Triazo, Apo-Triazo, Gen-Triazolam, Mylan-Triazolam, and others.
Lemongrass has a moderate interaction with Triazolam. Theoretically, lemongrass might decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Triazolam
Triazolam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lemongrass interacts with.
Animal research shows that lemongrass and its constituent citral inhibit CYP3A4.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear triazolam (Halcion) out of your system. Lab and animal studies hint that lemongrass, and a compound in it called citral, may slow that same enzyme down. If that happens, triazolam could hang around longer and hit harder than expected.
In real life that might mean stronger drowsiness, next-morning grogginess, dizziness, confusion, or feeling unsteady on your feet. The good news: this is theoretical, based on animal data, not solid human studies, and a little lemongrass tea or seasoning in food is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements or the essential oil are where I'd be more cautious. Before pairing them, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Triazolam page
“Triazolam (Halcion) is a potent, fast-acting sleep medication, and I'd approach its supplement list with genuine care rather than a quick skim. Nine of the 197 flagged ingredients carry a major rating, and they cluster around two problems.”

About Lemongrass
What is Lemongrass?
- Digestive upset
- Anxiety and stress
- Antimicrobial/antifungal
- Insect repellent
- Flavoring in food and drinks
Lemongrass is a fragrant tropical grass widely used as a cooking herb, a tea, and an aromatherapy oil. It is generally considered safe in the small amounts used in food, but most of its claimed health benefits come from laboratory or animal studies rather than strong human research. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements or the essential oil, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
About Triazolam
What Is Triazolam Used For?
Brand names: Halcion, Triazo, Apo-Triazo, Gen-Triazolam, Mylan-Triazolam, Novo-Triolam, Nu-Triazo
Triazolam tablets are approved for the short-term treatment of insomnia in adults. Treatment is generally intended for 7 to 10 days. Halcion (a brand of triazolam) is specifically indicated for this same short-term use in adults.
Using triazolam for more than 2 to 3 weeks requires a full re-evaluation by your doctor to rule out an underlying medical or psychiatric condition driving the sleep problem.
