Here's the gist for Temazepam (Restoril): your body partly relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear it out. Lab and animal studies suggest lemongrass, and its main aromatic compound citral, may slow that enzyme down. If that happens in people, temazepam could hang around a little longer than usual, which might mean stronger or longer-lasting effects like next-morning grogginess, drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

I want to be honest about the evidence though, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal work, not real human studies. A cup of lemongrass tea or using it in cooking is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements or the essential oil are a bigger question mark, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
